Cross-country skiing in Lungau

Here in Lungau, some 150 km of cross-country ski trails lead you through fairytale forests, snow-covered meadows and fields, and alongside streams. And if you take a more athletic approach to your skiing, we also feature roughly 100 km of ski trails that are groomed for skating technique.
Several alpine trails on the Katschberg, Prebersee and in Schönfeld as well as at the Gnadenalm take you to elevations as high as 1700 m, promising fantastic snow conditions .

All tours are clearly marked, including information about distance, difficulty and direction.

Approximately 3 km from the Häuserl im Wald is Höhen-Loipe-Lignitz, a trail that also has snowmaking capability, for absolute snow certainty even if temperatures are unusually mild. Furthermore, part of the trail is floodlit, allowing you to go skiing after dark.
At the Mariapfarr -Lignitztal Cross-Country Center they also offer laser biathlon.
Shooting with professional laser rifles is absolutely safe and supervised by professionals.
Cross-country skiing and laser biathlon, as well as the shuttle bus to Lignitz are free with the Winter Bonus Card,
which also goes for use of the toboggan run .

Seal of Quality

Lungau has been awarded the Cross-Country Seal of Quality.

Requirements:

at least 30 km trail network, snow guaranteed 80 days, permanently maintained, signs and panorama boards at all trailheads, where there must also be plenty of parking. A cross-country school with equipment rental is also necessary.
